What kind of company is Ay Kilit?
A long-established Istanbul lock maker with decades of manufacturing experience and strong engineering. We make padlocks, master key systems and drawer locks, and produce metal parts to customer drawings.
When was Ay Kilit founded and how did it grow?
Its roots go back to Yusuf Kıray's apprenticeship in Istanbul's historic hardware and locksmith market in 1955; the company was founded in 1964. It was among the first to use round-pin lock technology and, over the years, also specialised in contract manufacturing and CNC production.
What do you do?
Padlock production, plus hot and cold forging, CNC turning, Swiss-type turning, index lathe production and electrostatic powder coating. Two main areas, manufacturing and contract production, with a speciality in high-precision metal parts.
